This Crockpot Christmas Crack is a deliciously easy-to-make festive treat perfect for holiday cookie plates or parties. Combining savory peanuts with layers of peanut butter chips, white chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate melted perfectly in a slow cooker, it offers a sweet, crunchy, and creamy bite with colorful Christmas sprinkles for a festive finish.

Ingredients

Peanuts

  • 2 pounds peanuts (preferably 1 pound salted and 1 pound unsalted)

Chocolate Layers

  • 20 oz peanut butter chips
  • 20 oz white melting chips (Ghirardelli recommended, or Almond Bark/high quality white chips)
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate baking bar (optional for smoother texture)

Topping

  • Christmas sprinkles, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Layer Peanuts: Place the 2 pounds of peanuts evenly on the bottom of the slow cooker to create the base layer for the recipe.
  2. Add Chocolate Layers: Carefully layer the chocolate chips starting with the semi-sweet chocolate chips, then the chopped semi-sweet chocolate baking bar if using, followed by the peanut butter chips, and finally the white melting chips on top. This order ensures even melting.
  3. Cook and Stir: Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low heat. After 1 hour, stir the mixture gently to begin melting and combining the layers. Continue stirring every 30 minutes until all the chips and peanuts have melted together into a smooth and cohesive candy mixture.
  4. Cool and Garnish: Once fully melted and combined, turn off the slow cooker. Quickly spoon the mixture onto parchment or wax paper, then immediately sprinkle Christmas sprinkles on top to decorate before the candy cools and hardens.
  5. Enjoy: Allow to cool completely, then break or cut into pieces and enjoy your delicious Crockpot Christmas Crack!

Notes

  • Store the candy in an airtight container at room temperature for optimal freshness.
  • Freezing is not recommended unless you plan to eat it frozen as thawing can cause messiness.
  • You can substitute or mix different chocolate chips as long as the total amount remains the same.
  • White chocolate wafers melt fastest; placing them on top prevents premature melting discord.
  • If using almond bark instead of white melting wafers, chop and place it lower in the layers as melting properties differ.
  • Semi-sweet chips balance the overall sweetness well, complementing the sweet peanut butter and white chocolate flavors for a well-rounded taste.
